Female oak eggar moth

Not a moth I have seen before it was flying against the bathroom window one night (although it is in fact a daytime moth) it was still there the next morning when we photographed her she then flew off. She was very obliging to sit on my wife`s hand while I took some pictures.

    Isn't she beautiful! I've seen a few day moths too, as well as loads more butterflies than usual.

    What a beauty - why do I find moths a bit scarey, I reckon they look a lot more menacing that butterflies! Perhaps it's just a girlie thing!

      I agree Elaine they are a bit scary looking but beautiful at the same time butterflies have more spectacular colours
