Not quite a full moon

No have to wait for June 13th for that, and June 27th for the new moon, that`s when I set my tide clock in the beach chalet. At high water which is 12.12 pm I set the clock pointer to the top. (the 12 o`clock position)
Looking at my photo enlarged the edge of the moon in shadow is quite well defined with peaks and troughs

A tide cycle is about 12.5 hours all down to the gravitational pull of the sun and moon this is not a normal 12 hour clock mechanism but one which takes 12.5 hours for a full revolution

  1. So which camera did you use to take this one?

  2. Canon 40D 10 Mp with a 70-300mm Lens. Your FZ72 with it`s massive zoom would be ideal for a moon shot

  3. We were down your neck of the woods yesterday David. We walked passed all the chalets, terrific day, only about 3 of them being used. What a waste we thought, especially as we are on the waiting list for one. Sensational picture of the moon btw.

    1. We'll look out for you next time. We've moved up the list quite fast so far, so perhaps we will be seaside neighbours soon.
